The Museum of Mineralogy at Tbilisi State University, named after Ivane Javakhishvili, opened its doors in 1919. It is located at: st. Universitetskaya, 11, in the biology building on the fourth floor. The museum's collection includes about 10,000 items collected from various parts of Georgia, the past of the USSR and European countries. The exhibits came to the museum thanks to purchases and gifts from private individuals. Open to the public every day from 11:00 to 16:00, except Saturday and Sunday. Entry is free for all visitors. Children under 6 years of age, employees of other Georgian and foreign museums, members of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) with an appropriate card, people with disabilities upon presentation of an identity card, and refugees are entitled to free entry.
