[Temporaly closed] Tbilisi Dolls and Toys Museum
- Description
Opened in 1937 in a kindergarten on Atarbegova Street, the Tbilisi Museum of Dolls and Toys began its journey thanks to the idea of Tinatin Tumanishvili, a children's writer and teacher. This museum began its history with an exhibition presented by Tumanishvili’s collection of toys, dolls, family belongings and books, donated to the state. Inside you can find a variety of exhibits: folk dolls, toys created in the images of literary heroes, as well as Japanese, Chinese, and European works of art. The collection includes paintings, wooden products, rare furniture, porcelain, books, fine and applied works, as well as unique embroidery and much more. The museum is a structural subdivision of the N(N)LE Union of Tbilisi Museums and continues to delight visitors with the richness of its collections and historical heritage.
