The Museum of Geography of Tbilisi State University, named after Ivan Javakhishvili, is located at the address: Tbilisi, I. Chavchavadze Avenue, 1 (1 building, 3 floor). This historical museum was founded in 1958 and is part of Tbilisi State University. The collection contains valuable exhibits, including the world atlas of the great Georgian patriot Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani, published in German in 1711 in Germany. Also preserved in the collection of the Geography Foundation is a relief map of the Caucasus, created on the initiative of Alexander Javakhishvili. It is supplemented by relief maps of the Caucasus and other regions. Unique photographs depicting ethnographic life and anthropological types are also presented in the museum. The exhibition also contains cartographic materials with cultural and historical value. Open to the public every day, except Saturday and Sunday, from 11:00 to 16:00. Admission is free for children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members (with identification cards), people with disabilities (with a valid ID) and refugees.
