Animated Puppet Museum

In the very heart of Tbilisi, on Amagleba Street, there is a unique place - the Museum of Animated Puppets. This museum was founded back in 1999 by Georgian director Carlo Sulakauri. It began its story back in 1989 in the director’s personal account. Today it houses an impressive collection of various dolls that played important roles in Georgian cinema. You will find dolls from such famous films as “Salamura”, “The Girl and the Fountain”, “Watermelon”, “Bombora” - the creations of Carlo Sulakauri, Givi Kasradze and other talented authors. In addition to dolls, in the museum you can see sketches, archival materials and much more. Open every day except Monday from 11:00 to 18:00. There is free entry for visitors, including children under 6 years of age, employees of museums in Georgia and other countries, ICOM members with ID, people with disabilities (with supporting documents) and refugees. The museum offers permanent exhibits as well as educational programs, including an Art Therapy Room and art classes for children.
