In the very center of Tbilisi, at st. Vazha-Pshavela, 33, is the Biological Museum of Tbilisi State Medical University. This unique museum was founded in 1996 and is part of the Tbilisi State Medical University. The collection includes more than 500 exhibits representing various fields of biology. Among them you will find interesting exhibitions on paleobiology, ornithology (birds), mammals, ichthyology (fish), as well as botany in the form of herbariums. Particular attention is paid to the embryological exhibition, which presents the early stages of mammalian embryonic development, including the amniocentric membrane. You will also find drugs associated with embryological pathologies such as anencephaly and hydrocephalus. The exhibitions are supplemented by materials provided by Georgian scientists, including endemic and unique groups of Georgian flora and fauna. The museum is open daily, except Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 to 18:00. It is important to note that entry is free for children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members (with ID), people with disabilities (with valid ID) and refugees. A visit to the museum promises to be a fascinating and educational experience for all biology and science lovers.
