Energy sector company "Dariali Energy"
- Description
The company "Dariali Energy" in Georgia is engaged in a significant project in the field of hydropower - the construction of the Dariali Hydroelectric Power Station. This hydroelectric power plant, located on the Tergi River in the Kazbegi region of Northeast Georgia, represents an important step in the development of renewable energy in the region. The installed capacity of the station is 108 MW, which makes it a significant source of energy.
Located at an altitude of 1,729 meters, the hydroelectric power station uses water flows from the Tergi River, directing them through a pressure tunnel to the power station, which is located at an altitude of 1,334 meters, just 1.2 km from the Russian-Georgian border. This facility is capable of providing relatively stable electricity production throughout the year, reaching a total volume of 500.0 GWh. Electricity production is especially high during the summer months, from May to October, when about 70% of the total energy is produced.
The project includes connecting the Dariali hydroelectric power station substation to the Georgian National Energy System via the 110 kV Dariali high-voltage line. Construction is expected to take 4.5 years, and the project's lifespan once operational is estimated at 40 years. The total investment in the project is approximately US$123 million, highlighting its scale and significance for the Georgian energy sector.
