The Legvtakhevi Gorge (another name is Fig Gorge and Tbilisi Canyon) is one of the most unusual sights of Tbilisi.
The once stormy, and now shallow, Georgian mountain river Tsavkisistskali flows through the entire territory of the Legvtakhevi Gorge. It passes through the nearby city park — the Botanical Garden of Tbilisi, then along the canyon itself and ends with a beautiful waterfall, the uniqueness of which is that it is one of the few waterfalls in the world that are located right in the center of the millionaire city, while creating a beautiful urban mountain landscape.
This unusual natural attraction is a flowing turbulent water flow of a mountain river. There is a special bridge for tourists on the territory, surrounded by strong railings. You can walk along its boardwalk to the very end, where there is a dead end with one of the most beautiful city views of the gorge and the waterfall of Legvtakhevi.
The waterfall is surrounded by a green wall, the plants of which are kept here with the help of various crevices on a steep cliff. At different times of the day, the waterfall has a different appearance, depending on its illumination by the sun. In summer, during times of minimal river fullness, the waterfall is calm and peaceful, and the surrounding air is cool and pleasant.
During the spring flood, the waterfall becomes stormy, and in winter it turns into a precious shiny column, protected from local winds. The entrance to the territory of the gorge and the waterfall of Legvtakhevi is free at any time of the year.
