The State National Academic Song and Dance Ensemble "Erisioni" is one of the most respected and famous groups in Georgia, representing the national dance and musical art. Created in 1885, "Erisioni" is engaged in the collection, restoration, revival and popularization of unique folk songs of Georgia.
The ensemble has a rich history and includes outstanding artists, including Mikhail, Sandro, David and Anzor Kavsadze, Grigol Kokeladze, Grigol Chkhikvadze, Kiril Pachkhoria and many others. Today the ensemble is led by People's Artists of Georgia Dzhemal Chkuaseli and Revaz Chokhonelidze.
During its existence, "Erisioni" has gained international recognition, performing at various prestigious festivals around the world, including the USA, Europe, America and Australia. Their shows “The Legend of Princess Tamara” and “The Legend of Georgia” won the hearts of viewers in many countries.
The ensemble is known for its exciting performances, which demonstrate high professionalism and skill in performing dances, songs and playing national instruments. A special feature of the ensemble is the performance of point-point dances in soft leather ballet shoes on the tips of the toes, which amazes the audience with complex acrobatic elements and high jumps.
The Treasure of Georgia program is an impressive show featuring approximately one hundred performers dressed in authentic Georgian national costumes, showcasing the diversity of Georgian culture.
The Erisioni Ensemble has released numerous records, CDs and DVDs, which further enhances its significance as an important custodian and disseminator of the Georgian musical heritage. The ensemble's performances are not only a spectacle, but also an immersion in the rich and diverse culture of Georgia.
