Cable car from Narikala Fortress to Rike Park (the fortress is closed for restoration)

Although the fortress at the summit is under renovation and closed until late 2025, you can still visit the Mother Georgia statue and viewpoint. It's perfect for a scenic ride, but not the best choice if exploring the fortress is your main goal.

When in Tbilisi, taking the cable car up to Narikala Fortress is essential! It not only offers a convenient ascent to the fortress but also ranks among the top experiences in the city, with its stunning views and a hint of adventure. The journey begins in Rike Park and swiftly takes you to the hilltop in mere minutes, offering incredible vistas of the Old Town, the Kura River, the Peace Bridge, and the surrounding mountains along the way. The glass cabins are spotless, modern, and secure, making the ride smooth and enjoyable.

Upon reaching the top, you'll be greeted with even more breathtaking views, the historic Narikala Fortress, and the iconic Mother of Georgia statue — ideal for sightseeing and pictures. You have the option to walk back down through the charming old streets or enjoy the cable car ride once more.

Tickets are affordable and can be easily bought with a Metro card, making the process quick and hassle-free. Lines are typically short and the service is efficient. When you're in the park, expect to wait more than 30 minutes.

You can add money to your MetroMoney card and get tickets for 2.5 Lari per person, one way. The gondola ride is enjoyable and quick, offering amazing views of the city from above. Each gondola can comfortably seat 6 to 8 people, and they are in excellent condition. I absolutely loved the experience—it’s an exciting and picturesque way to take in the sights of Tbilisi from the sky. Just be prepared for a possible wait to buy tickets and board, especially during busy times.

The ride is short, so it feels more like a means of transport. There's also a card deposit, but since I wasn't using public transport, I found the travel cards very convenient. If there are two people, the operator will scan twice. Even with long lines, they move quickly because each cabin holds up to eight people. The busiest time was when we went down after enjoying the night view.

This is a modern cable car providing great views as you travel up and down the mountain. The fare is 12 GEL per person for each trip. It can be a bit tricky to locate, so it's helpful to ask someone for directions.

Watch out for scammers targeting tourists! They force a bird onto you, snap a few pictures, and then shock you with an outrageous demand for money. It's utterly disgraceful! Steer clear of them!

The views from the fortress are amazing, and the cable cars are convenient and cost just 5 Lari for a round trip. Definitely something worth doing in Tbilisi.

The city looks stunning from up high. We had a great time exploring various spots on the hill and later walked down to the town. This place is a must-see when you're in Tbilisi.

Колыбельная дорога в Тбилиси — отличный способ попасть к памятнику Матери и крепости Нарикала. С вершины открывается невероятный вид на город с его красочными зданиями. Прекрасно наблюдать, как река Кура извивается, а рядом виден Мост Мира. Купили тур, остались очень довольны.

The view is incredible and the ride feels secure. There are many activities and souvenir shops when you get off the cable car. You’ll find a few coffee shops, and you can catch a glimpse of the Mother of Georgia statue. The park is definitely worth a visit. The only downside is that there could be a bit of waiting time, but it's manageable.

The breathtaking view from above showcases the old city with its enchanting historical buildings and winding streets. Gondolas move gracefully, offering a spectacular 360-degree panorama.

It's shut down this November, and if you call and speak English, they just hang up on you 💀.

Jako środek transportu, który wzmacnia turystyczne doznania i pozwala zobaczyć miasto z perspektywy lotu ptaka, to atrakcja warta 500+, jeśli nie ma się lęku przestrzeni. Można się skupić na rozmowach i jednym okiem podziwiać rzekę Kurę. Cena jest bardzo korzystna w porównaniu do jakości. Po wyjściu można zobaczyć pomnik Matki Gruzji oraz ogród botaniczny. Spacer wolnym tempem do centrum starego miasta i podziwianie zaułków zajmuje godzinę. To był wspaniały, jesienny dzień. Polecam.

We thoroughly enjoyed our cable car ride to see the Mother of Georgia statue and the fortress. Even though the fortress was closed, it was still a fantastic experience. At the top, the street vendors add to the charm, offering snacks along with the incredible view. From there, you can also visit the botanical gardens and take a leisurely stroll.

Хороший вариант для путешественников — можно как полететь над городом, так и добраться до древних развалин. Проезд в одну сторону обойдется в 2,5 лари. Из кабины удобно делать снимки верхней части города, стекла чистые. Единственный недостаток — очередь, хотя и продвигается она быстро, но пришлось около получаса постоять. Когда добрались наверх, очередь обратно тоже была заметно длинной, но к моменту нашего спуска она рассосалась, и мы уехали спустя несколько минут, попав в третью кабинку.
