The public organization Georgian Association of People with Down Syndrome was founded on January 16, 2017 in Tbilisi by parent leaders and an adult with Down syndrome.
The vision of the association is to provide people with Down syndrome with a decent life in an equal environment where their abilities are recognized and realized.
The mission of the association is to create an environment based on equal rights for people with Down syndrome. The Association continually strives for the full inclusion and participation of people with Down syndrome in public life, empowering their families, providing services tailored to their needs, supporting independent living and raising public awareness.
The Georgian Association of People with Down Syndrome recognizes the principles of equality and human rights established by international organizations and respects the individuality and uniqueness of each person.
People with Down syndrome and their families can contact the association to receive support, information and assistance in social integration. The Association also welcomes interested partners, volunteers and anyone who wants to help achieve its mission.
