Charitable Foundation "Georgian Chanting Foundation"
- Description
The Georgian Chanting Foundation, located in Tbilisi, was founded in 2012 by businessman Vano Chkhartishvili with the blessing of Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia Ilia II. The main mission of the foundation is to promote and popularize Georgian singing and folk art both within Georgia and abroad. The organization also actively supports scientific research in the field of traditional Georgian music, which makes it an important component of the country's cultural life.
The Foundation carries out a number of significant projects and events aimed at studying and developing Georgian chants, as well as training new performers. One of the brightest events in the foundation’s activities was the Artem Erkomaishvili Prize, established in 2016. This biennial award includes a prize fund of GEL 10,000 and is intended for performers and researchers who contribute to the preservation and development of traditional Georgian songs.
Applying to the fund will be useful for researchers and performers interested in Georgian musical culture, as well as for those who seek support for the implementation of their projects in this area. The Georgian Chanting Foundation plays a key role in preserving and passing on to future generations the rich traditions of Georgian singing, making it a valuable resource for cultural professionals and enthusiasts.
