Charitable non-governmental organization "Association Anika"
- Description
The charitable non-governmental organization Association Anika, located in Tbilisi, on Tsotne Dadiani Street No. 136, has been successfully operating for many years, providing support and assistance to children and adults with disabilities. The organization has gone through several stages of development, starting with uniting parents of children with disabilities and implementing cultural and educational events.
An important activity of Association Anika is the inclusion of children with disabilities in the general education system. Currently, the association cooperates with the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, as well as with several schools, such as Tbilisi Public School No. 10 and School No. 149, where integrated and inclusive education programs are successfully implemented.
To meet the diverse needs of children with disabilities, the association built a rehabilitation center and launched a day center program for those not yet involved in the general education system. The center currently provides services to 63 adults with physical and mental disabilities, including 13 wheelchair users.
Association Anika is also actively working towards vocational education and employment of adolescents and adults with disabilities. As part of the project Center for Independent Living named after Zurab Zhvania, the association was able to provide employment for 30 people in various organizations.
