Wedding Palace or Palace of Ritual
- Description
The Wedding Palace, also known as the Palace of Ritual, is located in Tbilisi and is an architectural heritage monument. Designed by famous architects Viktor Jorbenadze and Vazha Orbeladze, it was built in 1984 specifically for wedding ceremonies. The building is distinguished by a unique combination of styles, combining features of 1920s expressionism and elements of medieval Georgian church architecture, which makes it an architecturally significant object.
Over the years of its existence, the Wedding Palace has received many famous guests. Margaret Thatcher's visit in 1987 was marked by a performance of traditional Georgian dance, and in 1990, musician Ian Gillan of Deep Purple renewed his wedding vows here. Since 2002, after the building was acquired by oligarch Badri Patarkatsishvili, the Palace was converted into his private residence. Since 2013, the establishment has been leased to a private company, offering services for organizing weddings, charitable and corporate events.
The Wedding Palace in Tbilisi provides the ideal atmosphere for unforgettable celebrations, surrounded by unique architecture and history. This place is suitable for those who are looking for a combination of elegance, culture and solemnity for their special day.
