The monument to Alexander Kazbegi, located in the center of Stepantsminda, is a tall sculpture of the Georgian writer on an impressive pedestal. This iconic monument attracts the attention of everyone who comes to the city, as it is located on the main square, where minibuses and buses from Tbilisi stop.
Kazbegi is known for his works, in which he described the life of the mountain people and touched upon issues of conflict between personality and social norms. All his works, written between 1880 and 1886, were repeatedly translated into Russian, which made the author popular outside of Georgia.
A visit to the monument will be especially interesting for lovers of literature and history, as well as for those who want to become more deeply acquainted with the cultural heritage of the region. Near the monument there is a view of the majestic Mount Kazbeg, which adds a special flavor and atmosphere to this place.
