Sculpture "Doctor Benjamin on a Donkey" in Sighnaghi
- Description
The sculpture "Doctor Benjamin on a Donkey" in Sighnaghi is an original sculpture made of copper, located on one of the central streets of the city. It depicts a doctor sitting on a donkey and is a reference to the popular Georgian film "Don't Cry!" Georgy Danelia, in which Vakhtang Kikabidze starred. Although the sculpture may not accurately depict the actor's appearance, the donkey and suitcase are unmistakably recognizable. This place attracts not only cinema lovers and admirers of Danelia’s work, but also tourists interested in the cultural and artistic attractions of Sighnaghi. Next to the sculpture there is a picturesque observation deck, which offers magnificent views of the surrounding area, making this place popular among visitors. The sculpture is easy to find as it is located on the route through the main street of the city, where you can also see other interesting objects, such as the sculpture of Don Quixote on a donkey.
