Fortress in Rustavi

In the 9th-11th centuries, all the fences were united, and in the 12th-13th centuries an external fence with a tunnel vestibule appeared. One of the unique features of the fortress are the frescoes, which make it the only one of its kind in Georgia.

In the 20th century, the fortress was known as Rish-kala, and in the 1920s it received a historically unfounded name - Arish Castle. However, historians have always recognized its true name - Rustavi Fortress.
