The mini-square with the monument to Zhiuli Shartava in Rustavi is a small green space created in memory of the outstanding Georgian engineer and statesman. Zhiuli Shartava, born on March 7, 1944 in Sukhumi, left a noticeable mark on the history of Georgia. There is a monument in the park that honors his contribution to the development of the country and his heroic fate during the Georgian-Abkhaz war of 1992-1993.
Shartava held various important positions, from work in engineering and industrial enterprises to a political career that led him to the post of chairman of the pro-Georgian Council of Ministers of the Abkhaz Autonomous Republic. He was killed on September 27, 1993 during hostilities in Sukhumi and was posthumously awarded the title of National Hero of Georgia in 2004.

Памятник выглядит так, словно его срочно установили без всякого плана и забросили. Вокруг всё грязно и запущено, мусор и покосившиеся скамейки дополняют картину. Стыдно за такое отношение. Печально видеть, как место, посвящённое таким важным событиям, оставляют в запустении.
