One star for this museum because it pushes a Soviet perspective—twisting the truth. It starkly contrasts the Museum of Soviet Occupation in Tbilisi. Without historical context, visitors might think Stalin was okay. He wasn't—he was one of history's worst criminals. His monuments shouldn't be celebrated.

Wiele eksponatów wydaje się nie mieć bezpośredniego związku ze Stalinem. Niektóre przedmioty, które są pokazane, były używane przez niego, ale część nie wiadomo, po co tam jest. Trudno powiedzieć coś konstruktywnego.

The museum doesn’t offer English translations. If you don't use a guide, and you don't know Russian or Georgian, you won't learn much about Stalin.

The exhibition presents an extremely biased view of Stalin. It completely overlooks critical events like the Ukrainian Famine, which led to the deaths of up to 7 million people, and the disastrous consequences of dekulakisation and forced collectivisation that caused millions more to perish. The museum ignores the terror of the Great Purge, the notorious pact with Nazi Germany, and the extensive Gulag system where countless Soviet citizens were detained. It also brushes aside the oppressive control over Eastern Europe during the Iron Curtain era. It seems like Putin is following in Stalin’s footsteps as a ruthless dictator.

The museum lacks a clear concept, and there are very few explanations in English. It's disturbing how the displays are presented without reflection, as if they could be from Stalin's era. His millions of victims are only briefly mentioned in a small, hidden room on the ground floor. Overall, it's a major disappointment.

Fascinating museum… There is some information available in English, but a bit more explanation would be beneficial for international visitors. It's a wonderful journey through history.

Внутри музея есть несколько оригинальных экспонатов, но в основном это фотографии и документы, которые легко найти в интернете, а также рассказы о Сталине. Мне не понравилось, что его достижения и злодеяния представлены отдельно. Выставку стоило бы сделать более реалистичной. Гиды на всех языках скучные и сухие, просто зачитывают текст без шуток и интересного взаимодействия. Еще были громкие группы китайских туристов, которые вели себя неприлично и неуважительно. Самые интересные артефакты находятся на улице — это дом и вагончик. Там нельзя фотографировать, но если сделаете снимок, вас за это не отправят в ГУЛАГ.

It's situated right next to his birthplace in Gori and has been open since 1957, although it was closed for some time in 1989 before reopening in the '90s. Exploring the museum and carriage could take about 1-2 hours, and if you plan to see the birthplace and take photos, then 2-3 hours should suffice for the full experience. Consider listening to a guided tour in English, and a day trip to the Uplistsikhe cave city might be a good addition to your itinerary.

Visiting was quite an intense experience due to the harsh history of its main figure. This place is a unique, mostly untouched example of Soviet-era museum practice, dedicated to Stalin's life and heritage. Here, you can explore three main features: the impressive main building with extensive exhibits, the humble house where Stalin was born, protected by a shelter, and his own bulletproof train carriage. It was surprising to see his popularity in the town. Nonetheless, no museum can hide the severe cruelty of this dictator.

This place has the potential to be fascinating, but the guided tour is truly disappointing. The rooms are overcrowded, and there are numerous groups speaking in different languages. It's almost impossible to hear your own guide. It would be much better if they provided headphones so visitors could listen to their guide while exploring the exhibits.

I expected a more balanced historical perspective based on what our tour guide mentioned... but it turned out to be a tribute to one of history's most notorious genocidal leaders.

Went there and honestly... I was completely let down. There was no critical insight into Stalin's life (gulags, Holodomor, Great Terror,...). The artifacts were displayed out of order, and it was tough for non-Russian/Georgian speakers to follow. The main message seemed to be: Stalin was just a great leader. This obviously can't be true when you consider the millions who perished during his rule.

Ciekawa pamiątka z dawnych czasów. Warto odwiedzić, zanim przestanie istnieć. Szczególnie interesujący jest wagon kolejowy. Opisy w większości dostępne tylko po gruzińsku i rosyjsku. Na miejscu można skorzystać z usług przewodnika mówiącego po angielsku.

Before entering, you can see the house where Stalin was born, which is really interesting. Inside, you can explore about 20% of the museum for free, but you'll need to pay to see the rest. As you'd expect, everything is related to Stalin's history, so it's fascinating if you're into historical figures.

It would be beneficial if the tour guide offered explanations in English.

The manager here is incredibly rude. They don't offer English-speaking guides, and when you ask for help, they bluntly tell you to just explore on your own. It seems the staff really don't enjoy their work or care if tourists visit, as there is absolutely no customer service.
