General Giorgi Mazniashvili House Museum

The Museum of the memory of Georgian General Giorgi Mazniashvili was founded in 1990 with the help of the administration, which raised significant funds to collect documents and memorial materials related to the activities of the military leader.
The exposition describes in detail the events of the XX century and the period of independence of Georgia. The museum contains photographs, videos, personal belongings, notes and letters of General Mazniashvili.
There is also a rich collection of materials of military conflicts with his participation in Adjara, Sochi, Adler and Tuapse. Some archival data was recovered, despite the actions of the Bolsheviks during the “red terror”, which destroyed the great military.
Initially, he had to move abroad, and then failed to get a pension and a job. In 1937, in his homeland, he was arrested and shot without trial, to date, the place of his death and burial is unknown.
