Giorgi Khorguashvili Kaspi Local Museum

The Caspian Museum of Local Lore named after Georgiy Khorguashvili is located at: Georgiy Saakadze Street, 88, Kaspi city. It was founded in 1960 and is a non-profit organization within the Museum Union of the Caspian Municipality. The museum specializes in historical artifacts and houses 19,082 items in its collection. The collection includes archaeological finds, such as artifacts from expeditions to various places dating from the Early and Middle Bronze Age (3rd-1st millennium BC), objects from a mound typical of the Trialeti culture of the late period, as well as objects from the Bronze Age, medieval pottery, sculptures and various weapons. Open daily, except Sunday and Monday, from 10:00 to 18:00. Ticket prices are 0.50 GEL for schoolchildren and students, 1 GEL for adults and 3 GEL for group excursions. However, entry is free for children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members, people with disabilities and refugees (upon presentation of an identity card). At the time of the last update of information, the following exhibitions were held in the museum: “Children’s exhibition”, “Exhibition dedicated to the anniversary of G. Shatberashvili” and “Three personal exhibitions of Caspian artists”. In addition, educational programs are available, such as “Our Past”, “Lesson in the Museum” and “Museum - a repository of antiquities”. The museum also offers a guide to its exhibits for visitors.
