The Church of St. George in Kavtiskhevi is a majestic monument of history and architecture, decorating the village of Kavtiskhevi in the region of Shida Kartli. This temple, erected in the 5th-7th centuries, is a rectangular building with a semicircular apse on the eastern side. Its walls, made of stones of various sizes, are decorated with exquisite brick details, giving it a special grandeur.
The church had two entrances - in the west and south, both decorated with arched passages, but the western entrance is currently walled up. The windows of the temple are also decorated with arches, and their decorative elements are created by skillfully stacked bricks. On the northern and southern facades, the smallest details add grace to the architectural appearance.
On the western edge of the roof rises an elegant bell tower made of brick, which opens majestic arches on each side, creating a gazebo. The pyramidal roof covering completes this architectural composition.
