Konstantine Gamsakhurdia House Museum

The famous poet, public figure and academician Konstantin Gamsakhurdia made a great contribution to the development of Georgian philosophy, history, poetry and journalism.
He is the author of the short stories and novellas “Abduction of the Moon”, “Letter to my Son” and “Smile of Dionysus”, the writer also translated into Georgian Dante's work “Divine Comedy" and poems by Walt Whitman. The memorial house-museum, founded in 1983 with the help of the district administration, houses more than 200 exhibits telling about the poet's work.
The exhibition fund contains documentary materials, photographs, personal letters and notes, essays and literary achievements of the author. The interior decoration of the rooms of the house was recreated within the framework of a special concept to show the visitors of the museum the life of the Gamsakhurdia family in the village of Dzveli Abasha.
