Lado Museliani Lentekhi Local Museum

The Lado Museliani Museum of Local Lore in Lentekhi opened its doors in 2007. It is located at: st. Ilya Chavchavadze, 14, Lentekhi. This museum is not a commercial organization, it is part of the Cultural Center of the Lentekhi Municipality. The museum's collection includes more than 3,300 items. The main part is archaeological finds from the Lechkhumi region, mainly dating back to the Bronze Age. Also on display are items of church ritual from the 11th-12th centuries, handwritten prayers from the 17th-18th centuries, and an ethnographic collection from Lower Svaneti, including a residential building in the Svan style, housed in the Machubi Museum. Open daily except Mondays from 10:00 to 18:00. Admission is free for children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members with an ID card, people with disabilities with an ID card, and refugees. It also holds various exhibitions of Lentekhi artists, annual exhibitions of school artists and organizes events such as the Lentekhoba festival. In addition, educational programs dedicated to New Year's traditions in Svaneti, Svaneti cuisine, intellectual games and Bible study are available here. The publication “History and Cultural Heritage of Svaneti” is also available in the museum.
