Goderzi Chokheli Museum

In the heart of Tianeti there is a local historical museum, founded in 1952. His address: 25, Rustaveli Street, Tianeti. This is a non-profit institution united in the Union of Museums of the Tianeti Municipality. The museum's collection includes 3,957 objects, covering a wide time range - from the early Bronze Age to the late Middle Ages. Here you will find archaeological finds discovered in the Tianeti region, ethnographic exhibits, objects of religious significance and examples of the Four Gospels in various formats, as well as a collection of textiles, medieval ceramics and much more. Open to the public every day, except Mondays, from 10:00 to 18:00. Admission is free for children under 6 years old, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members with an ID card, people with disabilities (with a supporting document) and refugees. Among the exhibitions presented in the museum are “Erzo-Tianet Archaeology”, “Numismatic Materials from Museum Storage” and “Rags from Khevsureti”. In addition, it hosts educational programs such as “Connection with the Past” for schoolchildren and the “Traditions and Pshavi” quilt knitting studio.
