Mirza Gelovani House Museum

The House-Museum of Mirza Gelovani in the Tianeti municipality is a unique place dedicated to the life and work of the outstanding Georgian poet Mirza Gelovani (1917-1944). It was founded in 1983 and is part of the Museum Union of the Tianeti Municipality. The museum has 1,584 memorial items related to the poet, as well as an encyclopedic collection spanning the 19th and early 20th centuries. The exhibition includes a variety of items, ranging from the personal belongings of Mirza Gelovani to his literary heritage, represented by various editions of his works. In addition, in the museum you can enjoy paintings, graphics, sculpture, photographs dedicated to the life and work of the poet. Open daily from 10:00 to 18:00. Admission is free for children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members (with ID), people with disabilities (with ID) and refugees. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum hosts periodic exhibitions in various educational institutions and the Tbilisi Mirza Gelovani Library. Educational programs are also provided, including literary evenings, meetings with writers and poets, as well as joint educational events with the Tbilisi Mirza Gelovani Library. Visitors can also view the Collected Works of Mirza Gelovani, which is available for publication.
