Ivane Javakhishvili Gardabani Local Museum

At the Gardabani Local Lore Museum named after Ivan Javakhishvili, you can immerse yourself in the rich historical heritage of this area. It is located at: st. David Agmashenebeli, 61, in the Gardabani Municipality and was founded in 1990 as part of the Cultural Center of the Gardabani Municipality. This museum pursues a historical profile and houses an amazing collection consisting of objects discovered during archaeological excavations in the area. The exhibits represent various historical periods, including the Stone Age, Bronze Age, Antiquity and the Feudal Period. Among them you can see weapons and tools of the Stone Age, examples of ceramics from the ancient period, silver and copper utensils of the late Middle Ages, craftsmen's tools, samples of folk clothing, handicrafts and accessories. Open daily, except Monday, from 10:00 to 18:00. Admission is free for children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members with an ID card, people with disabilities with a valid ID card and refugees. The museum's exhibitions include interesting sections such as "Historical Kukheti", "Archaeological excavations in Kukheti", "Georgian folk musical instruments from the museum collection" and "Young archaeologists". Also, educational programs are held here, such as “Let's learn the history of our region” and “Lesson in the museum”. The Museum is actively working on publications, including a Museum Guide, Museum Proceedings, and a Guide to the Gardabani Region, which will soon be available to the public.
