Mikheil Javakhishvili House Museum

Located in the village of Tserakvi, in the Marneuli municipality, the Mikheil Javakhishvili House-Museum has been welcoming visitors since 1987. This cultural center, which is a non-entrepreneurial (non-profit) legal entity, is a memorial site dedicated to the famous Georgian writer Mikheil Javakhishvili (1880-1937). The museum's collection contains a rich archive consisting of 2,117 items reflecting the life and work of Mikheil Javakhishvili. This includes his personal belongings, photographs, library, posters and other documents. The exhibition tells the story of the plight of a creative personality who was executed during Stalin’s “Great Purge” and shot in 1937. Open daily, except Saturday and Sunday, from 11:00 to 16:00. Visiting is absolutely free. Free entry is provided to children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members (with ID), people with disabilities (with valid ID) and refugees. The permanent exhibition of the museum is dedicated to the life and work of Mikheil Javakhishvili. In addition, educational programs and various events dedicated to this outstanding writer are held here.
