Zemo Karabulakhi Church, Kvemo Kartli, Georgia
- Description
In the heart of the Kvemo Kartli region, in the municipality of Dmanisi, is the ancient Church of Zemo-Karabulakhi, surrounded by the mystical aura of time. Its history goes back to the distant X-XI centuries, when these holy walls rose into the skies. This building, like an open-air museum, contains many secrets and treasures of Georgian religious culture.
The church appears to guests in the form of a majestic hall, ending at the eastern end with a semicircular apse, elevated by two steps. The northern wall is decorated with a table, dressed in the festive decoration of Brocade, where the sacred ritual of preparing the sacrament is performed. The interior space is divided into three parts by pilasters, and arrow-shaped arches redirected between the columns create impressive plays of light and shadow.
The facades of the church are decorated with carefully processed basalt stone, and the relief ornament and the image of the cross fill the space with spiritual energy. Two entrances - from the south and from the north - invite visitors on a journey through centuries and mysteries. The northern arched entrance gives a special character to this sanctuary, as if inviting you to meet the spiritual roots of Georgian history.
Although time has left its mark on the walls and structure of the church, their grandeur and beauty remain impressive. A visit to the Zemo-Karabulakhi Church is not only an immersion in the history and culture of Georgia, but also an opportunity to feel the power of time and the spiritual depth of this amazing place.

Церковь поразила своей архитектурной изысканностью и величественной красотой. В её стенах словно замерло время, окутанное духом веков.
