Khojorny Church, Kvemo Kartli, Georgia

Among the picturesque hills of Kvemo Kartli, in the village of Khodzhorny, stands the Khodzhorny Church - a majestic monument of medieval architecture (X-XV centuries). Its domed building in the shape of a cross amazes with its elegance and ancient splendor. The southern, northern and western directions are distinguished by a rectangular shape, while the eastern direction is elevated by an apse, creating an impression of unique beauty.

The interior of the temple delights with its exquisite design: the four arms of the cross are decorated with carved windows that let light into the room, illuminating every corner. The majestic arches are supported by carved imposts, and the apse of the altar rises on three steps, giving it special dignity.

The eastern facade is especially noteworthy, where three window openings are cut out, and the central window is decorated with an elegant two-figure composition of sakti toro, personifying the high religious meaning and grandeur of the temple. Fragments of medieval Georgian steles and Armenian khachkars built into the walls and floor give this place even more mystery and historical value.
