Alazani floodplain forest - a natural monument with vines and oaks in Dedoplistskaro

Alazani Floodplain Forest is a natural monument in Dedoplistskaro, on the right bank of the Alazani River. Its area is 204.4 hectares, and it is a dense deciduous forest with walnut, oak, ash, elm and climbing vines, creating a fairy-tale atmosphere. This unique ecosystem corner is part of the protected area of Kakheti.
Hiking routes are laid out for tourists: a 1 km long path will take about an hour of leisurely walking along Kakliskura or along the Orek Bay. The landscape is flat, which makes the route accessible to all levels of training.
You can get to the monument through the town of Dedoplistskaro. From the capital of Georgia, the distance is about 130 km (about 2 hours on the road), and from Dedoplistskaro - another 56 km along a picturesque road through the countryside. It is best to come during daylight hours to fully enjoy the walk and the beauty of the floodplain.
