Sandro Akhmeteli House Museum

The Sandro Akhmeteli House Museum was founded in 1987 and is a service center for art and education of the Sighnaghi Municipality. It is located in the village of Anaga. This museum is a non-profit institution that houses a rich collection related to the life and work of Sandro Akhmeteli (1896-1937), a famous film director and one of the most important figures of the Georgian theater. The exhibition features his personal belongings, photographs, documents, paintings, sketches and other artifacts. Open daily except Monday from 10am to 6pm. The visit is free. In addition to the permanent exhibition, it also hosts exhibitions such as “Georgian Theater Day”, as well as educational programs dedicated to the creativity and reforms of Sandro Akhmeteli in the Georgian theater.
