Giorgi Maisuradze Village Historical Museum

The Georgiy Maisuradze Village Historical Museum is located in the village of Vachnadziani, Gurjaani Municipality, and was founded in 1966. This museum, which is a non-entrepreneurial (non-profit) legal entity of the Gurjaani Library and Museum Union, specializes in historical topics. The museum has more than 4,800 items, including an archaeological and ethnographic collection of the 19th-20th centuries, weapons, church literature, as well as a handwritten copy of Shota Rustaveli’s poem “Vepkhistkaosani” (“The Knight in the Tiger’s Skin”), Erekle II “The Work of Mercy” and other valuable exhibits. Open daily, except Monday, from 10:00 to 18:00. Visiting the museum is free. The exhibition program includes expositions such as “Photo exhibition: Historical monuments of Vachandzyani”, “Archaeological materials from the museum” and “History of our village”. In addition, the museum offers educational programs, including “Lesson in the Museum”, “Let's Learn the History of Our Village” and “Discover Antiquity”.
