The David Kakabadze Museum of Fine Arts in Kutaisi is a unique space rich in collections of works by Georgian artists of the 19th-20th centuries. Located at st. Shota Rustaveli, 8, Kutaisi, the museum was founded in 1976 and has been actively developing since then. Legally, the museum is a non-entrepreneurial (non-profit) legal entity belonging to the Kutaisi Union of Artistic and Educational Institutions. He specializes in the field of art and has as many as 2,838 works in his collection. The museum's collections cover a variety of genres, including paintings by such famous Georgian artists as Niko Pirosmani, Gigo Gabashvili, Al. Tsimakuridze, K. Magalashvili, E. Akhvlediani and many others. In addition to paintings, there are drawings, sculptures and examples of applied art from such masters as B. Avalishvili, G. Nikoladze, Ir. Okropiridze and others. The museum is open to visitors every day, except Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 to 18:00. Ticket prices are very affordable: 1 GEL for schoolchildren and students, 2 GEL for adults, and excursion services cost 10 GEL. However, entry is free for children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members (with ID), as well as for people with disabilities (with valid ID) and refugees. In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum actively participates in the cultural life of the region, holding more than 20 annual exhibitions. For younger visitors, there are educational programs such as integration lessons and Sunday school for children up to 6 years old.
