House Museum of Japaridze Sister and Brothers

In the Chiatura municipality, in the picturesque village of Khreiti, the House-Museum of the Japaridze Sisters and Brothers, founded in 1981, is located. This unique museum is part of the Chiatura Educational-Cultural and Cultural-Creative Center and has the status of a legal entity with entrepreneurial activities. Focused on a memorial profile and dominates with its collection of 279 exhibits. It is dedicated to the family of the famous Georgian climber Japaridze, presenting rich archival material. In the exhibition you will find memorabilia, photographs, documents and publications telling about the history of Georgian mountaineering. Open daily, except Sunday and Monday, from 10:00 to 18:00. Entrance tickets are available at 1 GEL for students and adults, and schoolchildren can visit the museum for only 0.50 GEL. However, entry is free for certain groups of visitors, including children under 6 years of age, staff of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members with ID, and people with disabilities and refugees. The museum offers an exhibition entitled "Georgian Mountaineers" and various educational programs such as "Georgia and Mountaineering", as well as events related to the anniversaries of outstanding mountaineers.
