Orkari Canyon - Hidden Nature Trail and Waterfall in the Guria Mountains
- Description
Orkari Canyon is a picturesque and little-known natural place in the Guria region, near the village of Orkari. This is an ideal destination for hikers, seekers of solitude and lovers of water routes.
The length of the canyon is a little more than a kilometer. Inside there are narrow passages, steep cliffs, shade from the deciduous forest and transparent streams of water. After about 700 meters, the route splits into two parts: the right one is for more prepared tourists, and the left one is simple, suitable even for beginners and families with children.
At the end of the left branch, a waterfall awaits you, flowing down natural stone steps. The ascent and descent along the canyon do not require special equipment, but it is important to be careful - in some places the path is slippery due to wet stones and moss.
You can get there through the village of Orkari, then along a forest road leading directly to the entrance to the gorge. The best time to visit is summer and early autumn. This is one of the most atmospheric and secluded places in Georgia, where nature meets you without noise and fuss.
