The Shalva Radiani Ethnographic Museum in the village of Dvabzu, Guria, Georgia, is an important cultural institution dedicated to the life and legacy of the famous Soviet Georgian critic, literary critic and professor Shalva Dmitrievich Radiani. The museum was founded in 1984 and operates as a non-profit organization that is part of the Union of Museums of the Ozurgeti Municipality. Located in the municipality of Ozurgeti, in the village of Dvabzu, this historical museum offers visitors a unique opportunity to view ethnographic objects, books, photographs and agricultural tools that reflect the rich cultural history of the region. Shalva Radiani, whose name the museum bears, was a significant figure in the history of Georgian literature. After graduating from the Faculty of Philology of Tbilisi University in 1929, he became the first lecturer of the course on Georgian Soviet literature and headed the department of history of new Georgian literature since 1942. Radiani also actively participated in literary criticism and the work of the Georgian Writers' Union, and also held leadership positions in various literary and research institutes. The museum invites visitors to immerse themselves in the life and work of Shalva Radiani, as well as learn more about Georgian literature and culture of the 20th century. Visiting the museum is free for children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian museums and foreign museum workers, members of the International Council of Museums, people with disabilities and refugees. The museum is open to the public every day, except Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 to 18:00.
