Museum of Local Lore in the village of Mezhinistskali
- Description
The museum, founded in 1988, is a true treasure of cultural heritage. We have more than 4286 unique items that reflect the richness and diversity of Adjarian culture and history.
The museum houses valuable collections of paintings by local artists, works of crafts, various items of Adjarian life and ethnography. We also have paintings and products from local artists, as well as documentary materials and photographs that tell you the history of this unique region.
We are open to the public every day from 10:00 to 18:00, and what’s especially nice is that admission is absolutely free. We provide free entry for children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members (presenting a card with ID), people with disabilities (with a valid ID) and refugees.
We actively participate in the cultural life of the region, organizing periodic exhibitions of museum collections in schools and other cultural institutions. We also offer educational programs such as Teacher Guides and School and Museum to help our visitors better understand and appreciate the cultural heritage of this land.
Join us and go on an exciting journey into the history and culture of the Adjarian region at the Museum of Local Lore in the village of Mezhinistskali!
