House-museum of Sheriff Khimshiashvili in the village of Skhalta (Kinchauri)

The Sherif Khimshiashvili House Museum, located in the picturesque village of Skhalta (Kinchauri), Khulo Municipality, is a unique memorial site dedicated to the life and legacy of the Grand Duke and revolutionary Sherif Bek Khimshiashvili (1829-1892), also known as Sheriff Pasha. He was the last sanjak bey of Upper Adjara during the Ottoman rule and defected to the Russian Empire during the Russo-Turkish War, which allowed him to retain his property and receive the rank of major general after the annexation of Adjara to Russia.

The museum's collection includes 535 exhibits, including paintings, sculptures, applied art, numismatics, as well as personal belongings and household items of the Khimshiashvili family. The museum also has an extensive library, including scientific and auxiliary literature, as well as various photographs and documents related to the life and work of Sheriff Khimshiashvili.

The museum is open to visitors every day, except Mondays, from 10:00 to 20:00. Admission is free for children under 6 years of age, employees of Georgian and foreign museums, ICOM members (with identification), people with disabilities and refugees.

Particularly noteworthy are the regularly held exhibitions of paintings from the Khulo Art Gallery, which are held twice a year in the House Museum. These exhibitions provide a unique opportunity to experience local art and culture.
