The Mikhail Khergiani House-Museum in Mestia is a unique historical and cultural place dedicated to the outstanding Georgian mountaineer Mikhail Khergiani. The museum occupies a traditional Svanetian house known as Machubi, which allows visitors to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the ancient way of life of Svaneti.
Excursions are conducted by Mikhail Khergiani’s nephew, who offers detailed stories about the life and achievements of the great climber, as well as details about the traditions and life of the Svans. Visitors are given the opportunity to view the exhibition, which includes personal belongings, photographs and documents of Khergiani, which helps to better understand the significance of his contribution to the global mountaineering community.
