Church of Theodore Tyrone of the Caspian in Kaspi
- Description
The Church of Theodore Tyrone of the Caspian in Kaspi is an important historical and cultural monument dating back to the developed Middle Ages. The upper part of the church was built in the seventeenth century and has remained in its original form to this day. Of particular interest is a fragment of a painting on the northern wall of the temple, which is contemporary with the old church. In the past, the church was protected by a rampart and towers, of which the eastern and northern walls with a connecting battle tower have been preserved.
On the territory of the church, the remains of two tunnels were recorded, which descended to the Lehura River. During restoration work in the 1990s, pre-Christian and late antique tombs were discovered in the church courtyard, which emphasizes the historical significance of this place.
The Church of Theodore Tyrone of the Caspian is an interesting object for researchers of history and architecture, as well as an attractive place for tourists and pilgrims. A visit to this attraction will allow you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of medieval architecture and touch the rich cultural heritage of the region.
