Residence of Aprelov (XVIII century) in Dusheti

Aprelov's residence in Dusheti is a two-story residential building built in the mid-18th century and is one of the outstanding examples of Georgian secular architecture of that time. It is notable not only for its external architecture, but also for its original interior: the unique structural system located on top of one of the hall’s columns is especially impressive.
In the middle of the 19th century, the building was purchased by Stevan Aprelov, then a citizen of Dusheti. It was he who initiated the reconstruction of the officials' hall, which made it possible not only to preserve the old hall, but also to turn it into a residential building of a Georgian urban type. The house remains in the possession of the Aprelov descendants to this day.
