The two-story Church of the Savior in the village of Lagami, Svaneti is one of the most beautiful sights of Georgia.
The church in the Svanetian village of Lagami has a couple of floors, and they were erected with a difference of one century. The sight of the Georgian church of the Savior in Lagami has a somewhat unusual appearance - the facades of the building are painted in rainbow colors. Inside the building you can find ancient frescoes depicting biblical scenes.
The Church of the Savior in Lagami is located in the region of Svaneti.
It has two floors. The first floor, built in the VIII-IX centuries, is the guest room of the church, which has a regular interior and a flat altar. With the passage of time, an extension appeared near the structure.
The second floor, built in the 13th century, is a hall whose interior has beautiful pilasters and traditional arches.
On the west side can be found the annex, which is related to the so-called third stage of construction.
Simple facing ramparts decorate the windows of the building. The first floor is made of stone and the second floor is made of hewn stone.
All facades of the building are painted in different colors of the rainbow. In the temple are preserved frescoes dating from different time periods, unique and beautiful in their own way
Also here you can see portraits of famous personalities. Each fresco is individual. They all contain scenes from the Old and New Testaments, iconic images and images of saints.
