The name "Marijani" is associated with the famous Georgian poet Mariam Tkemaladze (Marijani was her pseudonym). She had a country house in Tsagveri, where famous figures of Georgian culture stayed. The Argevanidze Forest is named after a Georgian public figure who opened the first school in Tsagveri in 1910.
As well as other villages of the community of Daba, Timotesubani, Mzetamze Tsagveri has the status of a resort.
