How we rented an apartment in Ureki, what are the pros and cons of renting a house near the sea
This experience will be useful for those who want to rent a house in Georgia for a long time - what to do if there is no Internet, how much noise outside the window and why you need to pay attention to the water pressure in the tap. All about renting an apartment in Georgia in this article from expats.
"Pearl of Ureki" - our apartment in the village of Ureki, the house in which we lived at the address: Takaishvili Street. It is also on the map. The twelve-storey apartment building is located on the first line, that is, not far from the beach. The road next to the house is paved, and there is a decent sidewalk. On the ground floor of the house there is a shop "Nikora", next to the house there is a place where you can wash off the beach sand. This road has not been paved yet, and it connects Takaishvili and Guria Street. We go up to the second floor to our apartment. It has two rooms - one bedroom, one living room combined with an equipped kitchen. The apartment has six beds, but the apartment is small for seven people, and there is enough space for a family of two or three people.
There is also a hair dryer, iron, ironing board, TV, everything you need in the kitchen: electric stove, extractor hood, comfortable sink, cups, cups – all in sufficient quantity, salad bowl, plates (although there are no deep plates), two saucepans, one frying pan, and, of course, spoons, forks. From the living room you can access the balcony. On the balcony there is a dryer, chairs, a table. The balcony overlooks the old cafe.
The bedroom has all the necessary furniture: a bed, bedside tables, an armchair-bed, a cot, a wardrobe. The furniture is modern, good quality, new. Special attention is paid to a good comfortable mattress. On both sides of the bed there are sockets and night lights. Very convenient. Air conditioners are installed both in the living room and in the bedroom. The atmosphere in the bedroom is cozy and calm. The apartment has Wi-Fi, but if you need high-speed Internet, we recommend watching the video "Rental housing in Georgia. Our rake".
The apartment has two bathrooms, one with a toilet, sink and washing machine, the other with toilet, sink and shower. Nothing leaks, the plumbing is completely in good condition.
As a result, consider the pros and cons of the apartment and what it lacks.
Positive
First line, a few minutes to the sea
In addition, a big plus is that there is a shop in this house, as well as other shops and cafes - within walking distance. - There are two rooms in the apartment, one room plays the role of a living room. Kitchen, balcony, toilet. The second room is a bedroom, a toilet.
Modern furniture
In good, serviceable condition. Bedside tables, bed, wardrobe - nothing creaks, does not fall off, handles, doors and so on.
Minuses
The Internet
If you do not need high-speed or strong Internet, you will have enough of what is in the apartment. There is no good Internet in the apartment, even at the highest rates.
Noise
Throughout the rest, the barrel from which water is supplied to the house was noisy. It is constantly noisy, that is, it does not turn off. The air conditioners are noisy, the Nikora store is noisy downstairs, the air conditioners can drip from the upper floors, and all these sounds turn into a constant and quite strong noise. Some can't stand here for more than two nights.
Lack of water
This barrel supplies water for the whole, and at the peak, at the height of the holiday season, when a lot of people come, there is not enough water, and it is turned off. Initially, it is turned off at night. Then, when there are already many more vacationers and water consumption increases, the water is turned off during the day, and this can last for several days. Therefore, if you are planning a vacation in Ureki, clarify this question. Regarding noise and water, the owners promised to solve these issues next year, that is, they will already conduct full-fledged water, the barrel will be turned off, there should be no noise.
Price
The price of accommodation per day in high season can reach sixty dollars or more, and you can imagine how vacationers who have paid sixty or even eighty dollars a day feel, but they cannot wash or drain the toilet.
View
View of an old abandoned cafe. Someone attaches great importance to the view from the window. Some people don't.
What is missing
There are no deep plates. Pots and pans are not of very good quality. It is advisable to replace the electric stove, since everything is cooked for a very long time on the existing one in the apartment.
Conditions for freelancers
Insufficient conditions for freelancers and their children studying remotely. We recommend apartment owners to adapt their property for freelance travelers. In the apartment, in the room, there should be a work area.
No microwave
In Georgia, a microwave is not appreciated because it consumes energy, the food is tasteless, the waves are not useful, and even takes up space, but for a traveler, a microwave is a very important household appliance that saves time.
There is no electric broom or vacuum cleaner
Sand is collected anyway, and it is very problematic to sweep it out, so if there is at least a small, neat vacuum cleaner in the apartment, it's wonderful. Yes, all household appliances are energy, but you can give a choice. It would be better to have an additional charge for electricity, but these devices are simply necessary.
