There is only one tourist route leading to the Ninokhoveli Waterfall, but it will not be difficult to get here. The most diverse and rare plants grow in the valleys, and you can also meet animals. Ninoshevi waterfall itself is one of the most beautiful and tall, has a height of forty–five meters.
Of the 14 nature reserves existing in Georgia, the first one was formed on the territory of Kakheti, in the Lagodekh district. One of the most preserved in the world, replete with a variety of vegetation and wildlife, centuries-old untouched forests, rivers with crystal clear water and waterfalls.
Of all the waterfalls, the Gurgeniani Waterfall should be noted. According to legend, this waterfall originated in the place where beloved Gurgen and Ani met. The waterfall is located in the valley of the Ninoshevi River, so this waterfall has another name Ninoshevi.
There is only one walking route in the nature conservation area of Lagodekhi, which leads tourists to the waterfall. The route starts in the village of Gurgeniani, near the Information Center, and runs along a hiking trail along the Ninoshevi River. Rare relict plants grow in this beautiful valley: Lagodekh gentian, Lagodekh snowdrop, Julia's primrose, klekachka, lapina, chestnut, Georgian oak, etc. Here you can meet deer, roe deer, wild pig and predatory birds.
8 km from the village, tourists can see a fascinating picture: one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Georgia, the Ninoshevi Waterfall, falls from a 45-meter height. On one side of the waterfall there is a two-level slope where the rarest trees grow. The second steep side of it is completely covered with ferns. Through the fern forest, you can climb to the beginning of the waterfall and see how the foaming water falls and how the spray splashes on mossy stones.
