What to see in Georgia? Let's go on an excursion together to the Musicians' Park in Shekvetili! The history of the park, how it is unique and the facts about the most unusual place! Favorite pop music from the past and invincible classics. The park is located between Ureki and Shekvetili. The park is open around the clock, admission is free.
Overview of the Music Park in Shekvetili
50 kilometers from Batumi, moving towards the River, you will find yourself in a unique park where sculptures of the most famous musicians of the world are hidden.
It is located near the Black Sea Arena Concert Hall, the largest open-air concert hall in the Caucasus. To the left of the arena is the entrance to the park.
The park is a eucalyptus grove. In 2016, the first 24 human-height metal sculptures were brought to the eucalyptus grove. The sculpture collection includes about 35-40 sculptures. The collection was solemnly transferred by the organizers to the ownership of the municipality of Ozurgeti.
Entrance to the park is free at any time of the year and day. Sculptures can not only be seen, but also listened to. A speaker is mounted next to each monument, playing the most famous compositions from the repertoire of a particular artist. When approaching the monument, music is played. The poses of the figures are artistic gestures and movements frozen in metal, familiar to music lovers at the moments of the artists' performance.
To date, sculptures can be seen in the park :
- Famous musicians such as BB King, Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, Whitney Houston, Elton Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Barry White.
- Composers: Bach, Beethoven.
- Sculptures dedicated to outstanding Georgian artists: Nino and Iliko Sukhishvili, Revaza Lagidze, Zahariya Paliashvili, Vakhtanga Chebakeane.
The park is very cozy and beautiful. Folk craftsmen cut out fantasy silhouettes of people and animals from tree stumps and pillars, placing them throughout the park. Benches made of huge logs are convenient for recreation. Outdoor stages for small concerts and karaoke are also provided on the territory.
Not far from the park there is a large singing fountain.
In the village of Shekvetili, there is a Music park, which is located next to the Black Sea Arena, this park literally fascinated us. Very beautiful, well-groomed territory, eucalyptus grove, and of course great musicians.
It's very nice to sit on the bench and remember my favorite hits, melodies, and I was very glad to see Whitney Houston, Jamie Hendrix, Ray Charles. I recommend everyone to visit this park.
