History of Mushtaidi Park
Mushtaidi Garden-Park was created in the first half of the 19th century. The owner of this park was the Persian fugitive Agha-Mirfetah Said Tavriz on land received from the Russian Tsar for services in the Russian-Persian War, he built the park and named it in honor of his dead Georgian wife. An interesting fact is that his wife was buried on the grounds of this park in the garden. Originally, the park was intended for the reception of the nobility in this beautiful place.
In 1853, Mushtaidi became the property of the casino, in the park were regularly held exhibitions, public festivities, performances. Nikoloz Shavrov, a public figure, in 1887 founded the Caucasian Silk Farming Station right on the territory of the park in the relict garden. Only the main building has survived to this day, in which travelers now visit the Museum of Silk.
