The best natural attractions in Georgia. Lake Mtsvane.
Lake Mtsvane is surrounded by evergreen forests. The water in the lake is clean, transparent and slightly mineralized, so it can be used as drinking water. Around the lake are a few more lakes - the place is really picturesque. In addition to all its other riches, the place also abounds with underground springs.
On the western slope of the Arsian Range, at the foot of Mount Alma is a beautiful lake that locals call Mtsvane (green). Surrounded by evergreen and deciduous forests, the natural reservoir is enclosed by spruce trees and rows of beech trees. The clean, clear, slightly saline water of the lake can be used as drinking water. There are no fish in the lake.
There are several more lakes in the neighborhood of Lake Mtsvane, to the north of it: four more lakes, which are smaller in size than Lake Mtsvane, are located on the summer pastures on the territory of Didachar. There are a lot of springs with cold clear water in these places. The neighborhoods of Mount Alma (southeastern slope of the Arsiani Range) in Georgia are notable for the abundance of springs. Here, on a relatively small area (approximately 4 sq km) about 50 springs emerge from underground. The Acharistskali River rises from here.
12 km south-west of Lake Mtsvane is Beshumi, a famous mountain-climatic resort of local importance. Beshumi is a village surrounded by coniferous (pine and fir) forests of alpine zone and mountains. Low humidity, plenty of ultraviolet sunlight, sources of drinking and mineral water, therapeutic mud and air filled with pure oxygen helps in the treatment of various diseases, including chronic respiratory diseases.
On the first weekend in August, a traditional folk festival "Shuamtoba" is held here. On this day, a lot of guests come here. The official ceremonies are followed by an exhibition of handicrafts, horse races, wrestling competitions and folk festivals. Most of the year, the resort is empty, as the nearby areas of the Goderdzi Pass have a snow cover height of 5-6 m, and the pass is closed.
