A hoop encircled the village, and at the foot of the rock lay a lake. Those who were able to escape took what happened as God's punishment. They guessed that there was a temple nearby, and pleaded with God: If God would deliver them from destruction, they would take a vow that they would not do anything wrong in the place to which the bells rang. After these words the gloom cleared and the Persians saw the church. Believing in the miracle, the Persians called the place "Mravaldzali," which in Georgian means "many-mighty."
To the west of Lake Mravaldzali, at the foot of the rock Cholevi, is Lake Chikis Tba.
