The Nedzvi National Park and Gorge is a protected natural area located near Borjomi. This territory is considered part of the more famous Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park. This is a quiet, secluded place that is rarely visited by guests and tourists. Excursions are rarely held here.
The main purpose of creating this zone is to keep the lynx population living in the area safe, as well as the largest forest of Caucasian firs on Earth, which has been preserved in its original natural state. Populations of Caucasian deer, chamois, brown bears, salamanders, otters and so on also live in this national park and in the surrounding area. The Nedzvi chasm has a triangular shape and is located near the famous Borjomi Gorge. There are mountain ranges between them. On the other sides, the zone is also surrounded by ridges separating it from the Gujaretistskali River and the Dzama Gorge.
Location of the Nedzvi Gorge: The Nedzvi Gorge is located in close proximity to the village of Akhaldaba, at a distance of 19 km from Borjomi.
The distance from Tbilisi to Nedzvi is 140 km, the road to Nedzvi will take almost 2 hours. You can get to the village of Akhaldaba by trains heading from Tbilisi to Borjomi, and from there you will go to Nedzvi. Parking lasts only from 1 to 3 minutes. However, not all trains with this route have stops at village stations, so this point should be clarified in advance.
From Borjomi to the village of Akhaldaba there is public transport (shuttle buses), you can also take a taxi. However, services such as Yandex. Taxi and others do not work here, you will have to hire a private chauffeur, who mostly park their cars at the railway station and bus station. However, such transport will be quite expensive.

However, the most famous place here can be considered the fortress of the same name, also called Tamara's fortress. It is located on a mountain in a pine forest at a distance of 1.5 km from the village itself. It offers a panoramic view of the village and the entire surroundings. In the old days, this fortress and the gorge were connected by clay pipes, and the gorge was inhabited by monks.
Chachuna National Park
Changchun National Park is located in the edge of southeastern Georgia, near the border with Azerbaijan, in Kakheti. Previously, the park was a protected area of 5200 hectares. The distance to Tbilisi is 175 km.
The territory of the park consists of mounds of clay and sand, volcanic stones and limestone deposits. There are beautiful easily passable forests, where tourists are happy to go on excursions and hikes. The presence of reservoirs even allows you to arrange a fishing competition.
Vegetation
